Fashion Cuts

Top: Anarchy Street "Dani" Dress
Bottom: "Ciara" Dress by Boulee Designs via Singer22

Audrina Patridge wore the dress by Boulee Designs for the Hills Finale. I love the random cut outs and found an identical dress for much less by Anarchy Street.

Smell the Roses!

Top: American Apparel 3-D Flower Mesh Jumper
Bottom: Rory Beca Belili Rosette Jacket via Shopbop

Lovin' the rose detail on both tops. I got my friend the American Apparel version for her birthday and she absolutely loves it.

Channeling Kate Middleton

Top: Wilfred Franca Dress via Aritzia ($175.00)
Bottom: Club Monaco Audrey Coat via Shopbop

Kate Middleton is the modern day Cinderella and one of the biggest fashion icons to date. Her outfits are versatile, young and look gorgeous on her. I found some pieces that are very Kate-like and wanted to share them with you! And most of all, they are affordable and attainable!

Great Lengths

Top: Steve Madden Tanngoo Chestnut Suede ($79.95)
Bottom: Jil Sander Daria Wedge Boots via SSENSE ($785.00)

For my birthday, I got the Steve Madden pair in chestnut. I absolutely love these wedges despite the big blister I got from wearing it all around campus for seven hours. I got so many compliments and was even asked if they were Jil Sander's!

Ombre Nails

Say goodbye to ombre hair and hello to ombre nails! I love Songofstyle's nails and how artistic they look. And on the plus side, ombre nails are easier and cheaper to maintain than ombre hair.

The Unconventional Dress Shirt

Right: Equipment Sisley Blouse via Shopbop

I'm so glad dress shirts can actually live up to their name and be dressy and not boring and office-like (Think awkward fitting shirts with vertical lines). I recently had an interview with Apple and wore an oversized silk dress shirt that I tucked into black skinny pants with a thin vintage-inspired brown belt. It really depends on the company you work and are applying for so be sure to style accordingly.

I love and have always wanted an Equipment dress shirt but I can't seem to find a retailer in the GTA that carries Equipment. Some have not even heard of the brand!! Thus, I found an alternative from Aritzia that fits nice and looks similar to the Equipment dress shirt.

Choked Up.

First: Dannijo for Vena Cava Naomi Necklace via Shopbop ($182.07 CDN)
Second: Anarchy Street Polished Philo Necklace ($49.00)
I absolutely love gold choker necklaces! And the fact that Taylor Tomsai Hill was sported wearing them at a Hermes fashion shows makes me love them even more. The necklaces also remind me of my Sailor Moon’s (my childhood super hero). Any one agree?

My Rant about UGGS

I'm hoping to find a substitute boot for winter. I have purchased 2 UGGS over the past 2 years and both have been ruined by Canadian weather. The padding in my first pair came off and the suede on my second pair is cracking. I love UGGS because they are warm and comfy but EVERYONE has them and they're getting pretty old. Does anyone know of any substitutes?

If you love UGGS but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars I suggest purchasing them online. They are cheaper and you can buy the kid's version in a bigger size. I'm normally a size 6/7 but in UGGS I can be a 4/5. Go to a store to try on the kid's version before purchasing it online.

Burberry Look Alike Rain Boots

Although it's November, there was a week in October where the whole GTA was flooded with rain. I hate rain because I don't own a pair of rain boots. Besides UGGS, all my other boots are heeled. And as we all know, UGGS are not dependable in rain or slush. I love Burberry but I can't justify paying thousands of dollars on a pair of rain boots. I wanted Hunters but I only like the tall ones and I'm only 5'2. Therefore, I made it my mission to find chic rain boots. I found Burberry lookalikes for only $60.00.

TOMS

Visit TOMS Website for more information about the One for One Campaign

TOMS Shoes has got to be the latest go-to shoe when it comes to comfort and style. And if you are unfamiliar with TOMS Shoes you must be living under a rock!! What I love about TOMS Shoes is their "One for One" policy. When you purchase a pair of TOMS Shoes, a pair will be donated to a child in need. I'm hoping to get a pair of red ones.

If you absolutely cannot afford a TOMS Shoe (retails for about $65.00 a pair) you can certainly get an Aldo look-a-like for only $40.00. I've tried these on and they look fantastic. They can be dressed up or down. I love the black sole that gives it a dressy look.

Welcome to Style Doppleganger!

I'm a University student and that means I am very, very poor and have to make very large sacrifices. The one thing I won't sacrifice is style. Most people have the tendency to correlate style with high prices but style does not have to come with extravagant prices. The point of my blog is to show people how to get high style fashion at low prices.
